Airplane dropping retardant on the Green Fire

Wildland Firefighters responded to multiple wildfires on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest with a coordinated effort of ground crews and aerial resources following widespread thunderstorms and lightning on the afternoon and evening of June 30, 2025. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest saw more than 3,100 lightning strikes across the Forest, between June 30 and July 2, resulting in several wildfires.
