
Wildland Firefighters responded to multiple wildfires on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest with a coordinated effort of ground crews and aerial resources following widespread thunderstorms and lightning on the afternoon and evening of June 30, 2025. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest saw more than 3,100 lightning strikes across the Forest, between June 30 and July 2, resulting in several wildfires.
The three largest wildfire incidents are the:
- Green Fire east of Shasta Lake
- Horse Fire west of Lakehead (now 100% contained)
- Helena Fire near the community of Helena (now 100% contained)
