The Billy Fire is a lightning-caused wildfire on the Tonto National Forest, 15 miles south of Young, Arizona. Firefighters are taking a full suppression strategy on the fire atop Center Mountain on the east side of the Sierra Ancha Mountains.

The fire is mainly smoldering and creeping with a few snags burning in the interior of the fire.

Planned Actions
Crews will patrol handline, use a chipper on the south side of the fire and will start fire suppression repair.
Projected Incident Activity
The fire is expected to continue smoldering especially in the heavier fuels. No growth is anticipated.
Remarks
The helicopter assigned to the Billy Fire was called away to provide initial attack on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.
