White Sage Fire Briefing on July 27

The White Sage Fire originated about 1.5 miles from White Sage, AZ & approximately 15 mi southeast of Fredonia, AZ. 

The BLM received a smoke report Wednesday evening, July 9, following a thunderstorm that moved through the White Sage area. 

Firefighter and public safety are the highest priority. The BLM continues coordination with Coconino County Emergency Management on evacuations and closures. 

Evacuations are being conducted in cooperation with Coconino County Sheriff. 

 A Type 3 Incident Management Team - Color Country Team 2 is overseeing operations effective 7/26/ 2025

A very dry airmass with single digit relative humidity is expected so an increase in fire activity is possible. Tuesday will be hot and dry with windy conditions and single digit relative humidity..

Hot temperatures with single digit minimum relative humidity values and poor overnight recovery into Tuesday morning. Increasing monsoonal moisture will result in a slight chance (10 percent) of thunderstorms late Monday, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday. With the increasing clouds and moisture, temperatures will gradually lower this week and RH values will increase.
