This fire started along U. S. Highway 395 about two miles north of Likely, CA and burned quickly through dry rangeland grasses. Fire has been wind driven. It is burning on lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and private lands. The leading edge of the fire burned onto approximately 200 acres of Modoc National Forest lands. The change in acreage from earlier reports is due to more accurate mapping. The fire is 100 percent contained. This will be the final update.

Remarks
An evacuation order for scattered homes east of the fire has been lifted. Road 64, the Jess Valley Road, is now open, and access to Blue Lake is open. There have been three heat-related injuries to firefighers. All were treated at a hospital and released.
